WonderfulI devoured the first book and now the second。 I’m so excited for the conclusion。 The world building， characters， and the strength wonderful series so far。

this series is becoming incredible and the second instalment is even better than the first。 the developing romance between kalan and tessa has me hooked and i cannot wait to see how it continues with the vow he makes， the tension/dramas that was occurring throughout was paced well and the world/magic dynamics with the fae and gods are interesting though only wish we knew more （a personal preference more than a critique）。 toryn is becoming a fave and i need more of his charm in my life <3i though this series is becoming incredible and the second instalment is even better than the first。 the developing romance between kalan and tessa has me hooked and i cannot wait to see how it continues with the vow he makes， the tension/dramas that was occurring throughout was paced well and the world/magic dynamics with the fae and gods are interesting though only wish we knew more （a personal preference more than a critique）。 toryn is becoming a fave and i need more of his charm in my life <3i thought the wait between the first and the second book was bad - the ending has ended me because i need to keep reading to find out what happens next 。。。more

There was a miss type of the word “cake” as “cage” in like the second chapter。 If you can’t spring for an editor have friends or family or social media fans read for errant mistakes like that。 Offer someone a free copy or dinner or SOMETHING。 There’s just so many solutions to avoid that。 Honestly the author rereading their own work should have caught it。 （Edit:chapter 6）。 That aside this book was pretty similar to the first except huge deviation of formatting to include frequent/constant time ju There was a miss type of the word “cake” as “cage” in like the second chapter。 If you can’t spring for an editor have friends or family or social media fans read for errant mistakes like that。 Offer someone a free copy or dinner or SOMETHING。 There’s just so many solutions to avoid that。 Honestly the author rereading their own work should have caught it。 （Edit:chapter 6）。 That aside this book was pretty similar to the first except huge deviation of formatting to include frequent/constant time jumps。 Some of them were great to expand upon the story and fit okay in the main narrative as an aside （like a flashback）。 However some of them just… didn’t fit well。 And the number got to the point it felt it was taking away from the main narrative and some would have been better formatted as part of the main narrative （like someone present day telling the story of what happened）。 I’m still really hooked on the story/characters so can’t wait until the next installment。 。。。more

Of Ash and EmbersAction-packed and emotional。 This second installment was packed with so much it was hard to put down from the start。 I loved the multiple povs and the peeks into the past that blended everything together。 It was unpredictable， thrilling， romantic， and so much more。 I can’t wait for more！

Holy smoke， that was absolutely incredible。 The storyline is out of this world， amazing in every way。 This book picks up right where the last book finished， with a nice short recap of the the first book。 Also an added bonus is the map of the world in the front， I really love it when authors add maps。 In this book there's a lot of heartbreaking moments， some steamy romance scenes and plenty of humour。 Every character in this series is interesting， even Oberon。 The switch of point of views is my f Holy smoke， that was absolutely incredible。 The storyline is out of this world， amazing in every way。 This book picks up right where the last book finished， with a nice short recap of the the first book。 Also an added bonus is the map of the world in the front， I really love it when authors add maps。 In this book there's a lot of heartbreaking moments， some steamy romance scenes and plenty of humour。 Every character in this series is interesting， even Oberon。 The switch of point of views is my favourite thing though， from several of the characters including some I hadn't expected。 I pre ordered this book because I was hooked after book 1， the wait for this to release was excruciating。 The cliffhanger at the end of this was so intense， I had to check if I was still breathing。 Honestly I spent so much time holding my breath through this entire book， or laughing that it felt like I was a part of the world in it。 This is definitely my favourite series by this author， I love the dark setting in it。 A must have for my physical paperback collection。 。。。more

This book was fantastic， stressful， but fantastic。 No part of it was predictable。 It tied up some loose ends from the first book but definitely leaves you ready for the next one！ Cannot wait to read more of their story。

4 stars because we had a solid first 3/4 with a good amount of plot development and tension as Kal and Tessa found their way back to each other。 However， the end/set up for book three will make for a good third book but made for a frustrating end。 When can they just be together？？？？

Wow。 I love Tessa and her spirit in this series。 She will fight with everything she has to escape。 When she stuck in the dungeon in the Light kingdom she sees the mist and knows the Mist king is coming。 This book has twists that will keep you reading。
